Symbols & broker rules
A signal's symbol may differ from the instrument name available at your broker. Configure resolution in Trading Profiles → Signal parsing, then verify it in preview against the receiving account.
Map a source symbol
- Find the exact instrument name on the receiving MT5 account.
- In Symbol mapping, add the symbol used by the source and its corresponding Symbol on MT5.
- Preview a message using that source name and inspect the resolved broker symbol.
- Save and apply the version to the intended account.
For example, a source can use GOLD while the intended broker instrument has another name. The mapping must match the actual instrument you intend to trade; a similar name does not establish matching contract size or hours.
Use a broker suffix
Broker symbol suffix is used only when there is no explicit mapping. If the broker instrument is EURUSD.a, the suffix is .a. An explicit mapping takes precedence; do not append the suffix again to a mapped full instrument name. The EA validates the final symbol on MT5.
Filter before mapping
In Trading filters & symbol rules, Source symbol filter allows all symbols, only selected symbols, or all except selected symbols. Symbols in signal uses source names such as GOLD or EURUSD, before broker mapping.
Custom rules per symbol also matches the normalized source symbol before mapping; for example, EUR/USD becomes EURUSD. Add the source symbol, select the fields to customize, and leave other fields unchanged to inherit the base profile. Preview both a matching symbol and another symbol to check the scope of the override.
When execution is rejected
Check the exact mapped name, symbol availability on the receiving account, trading session, price precision, minimum/maximum volume and volume step, minimum stop distance, and available margin. The same source symbol may need different profile settings on different broker accounts.
