Risk & order sizing

Configure Trading Profiles → Lot size & risk limits to control volume and account exposure. Preview the full order layout rather than looking only at the single-order field.

Fixed lot size

Choose Sizing method → Fixed lot size.

  • Lot size for single-order mode is the base volume for one order. An explicit lot in the signal replaces this base value.
  • Lot size for each TP order sets independent volumes for a multi-order TP layout. These values are not percentages or portions of one total lot size.
  • In five-target profiles, configure TP4 and TP5 explicitly.

A signal's explicit lot does not replace every TP-specific fixed lot in a multi-order layout.

Auto Lot by SL

Choose Sizing method → Auto Lot by SL. The EA calculates volume using the entry-to-stop-loss distance and the configured balance risk budget.

SettingMeaning
Risk percentage of balanceBase risk percentage for one order.
Balance used for risk calculation0 uses the actual MT5 account balance; a positive amount substitutes that amount in account currency. It does not use equity instead.
Risk for each TP orderA positive value calculates that TP order independently. 0 falls back to base sizing, including an explicit signal lot when present.

An explicit signal lot replaces base single-order sizing. Positive TP-specific risk settings still calculate their own multi-order volumes. Risk calculation needs a valid effective SL and usable broker contract information.

Each TP risk value is independent. The displayed sum of positive TP risk settings is a configuration sum, not a guaranteed maximum loss. Values of 0 use base sizing and are excluded from that displayed sum.

Maximum volume and broker checks

Maximum lot per order rejects an order whose calculated volume exceeds the limit; it does not cap the order by reducing it. The EA also checks broker volume steps, minimum/maximum volume, and available margin. Volume normalization to the broker step can leave an invalid minimum volume and cause rejection.

Limit repeated entries

In Exposure & repeat signals, configure:

  • Maximum open positions & pending orders: counts TTMT-managed positions and pending orders on the account, including the planned batch.
  • Maximum trades per symbol and direction: limits TTMT-managed entries for that symbol/direction, including the planned batch.
  • Minimum spacing between same-direction entries: select time, price distance, or no spacing rule. The time cooldown is retained across EA restarts.

A count limit of 0 removes that profile-level count limit. Broker checks and other restrictions still apply.

Opposite-direction handling

If an opposite-direction trade exists can allow both directions, skip the new signal, close opposite trades only, close then enter, or apply those closing choices only to profitable opposite trades. Close-and-reverse waits for closing results before opening a new position. These rules affect TTMT-managed trades.

Diagnose a sizing rejection

Check the effective SL, signal lot, active single/multi-order layout, TP-specific settings, balance selection, maximum lot, broker volume rules, and margin. If preview only parsed the signal while the account was unavailable, reconnect and repeat broker checks before treating the calculated plan as confirmed.

A stop loss or calculated risk budget cannot guarantee realized loss: fills, gaps, slippage, fees, and market availability affect the outcome.
